Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Japanese student contingent welcomed 

The CQU Rockhampton Language Centre has welcomed 40 Japanese students to learn not only English, but also about our Aussie culture.

PhotoID:2860 The postgraduate economic students from Meikai University, Chiba (east of Tokyo), and Asahi University, Gifu (near Nagoya), have travelled here on a study tour with their professor, Dr Reiji Miyazaki.

Their English classes will focus on local industries such as tourism, coal and beef.

Students will be in Rockhampton from February 26 until March 17.
