Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

2003 QAL $5000 scholarship on offer 

Queensland Alumina Limited is offering a $5000 scholarship for a first year student at Central Queensland University. The QAL scholar will receive $5000 per year for the duration of their undergraduate study subject to continued satisfactory academic performance.

The successful student, whose home is in the Port Curtis region (Gladstone City, Calliope or Miriam Vale Shires), would be enrolled in science, business, engineering or informatics at CQU. The student would have also proceeded from year 12 in the previous year.

Applications close on August 29, 2003, and application forms are available at Student Administration, CQU Gladstone Campus or Student Administration, Building 2, CQU Rockhampton.
