Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Vegas Show Features Best from Conservatorium 

Vegas Showstoppers will feature the best performers from Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music's Rockhampton and Mackay operations.

It will also feature one of the Conservatorium's industry mentors (leading drum master Grant Collins) and Rockhampton-based staff member Dimitri Kopanakis.

PhotoID:235 The Conservatorium jazz orchestra and Capricornia Silver Band will both feature in show band mode during the event.

Vegas Showstoppers is on from 2.30pm on Sunday, September 8, at the Pilbeam Theatre. Dial 'n' charge on 4927 4111.

Featured songs include My Way, New York New York, Goldfinger, I Honestly Love You, One Night in Bangkok, Fever, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Too Darn Hot , Don't Cry Out Loud, and Bad Habits.

Highlights of the dance numbers are I Go to Rio and Artic Funk.

Up to 100 performers will be involved in the show.
