Bundaberg goes on a discovery

Discover CQU held at Bundaberg campus last Thursday night (August 15) was a big success.

Head of Campus Alex Grady said the number of people that attended reflected the increasing role the University now plays in the area and highlighted an increase in awareness about the University.

PhotoID:231 “We had around 180 people attend the three-hour session, with some very genuine enquires. It was a broad range of people, reflecting the enrolment at this University, with people who live in the surrounding areas, for example Childers and Gin Gin, taking the time to check out their options for local study,” Professor Grady said.

“Each of the four faculties were represented on the night as well as the careers, counselling and heath services, the display area was very impressive.” The night was a chance to show the local community what programs are available, as well as a tour of facilities including the library and student association.

There was also the opportunity to attend a lecture and workshop. These were very well prepared and ranged from “Why it is your bosses fault when you stuff up at work” from the Informatics and Communication Faculty to “Play is more than a four letter word” from Education and Creative Arts.
