Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU graduate at Mackay Base Hospital wins top student award 

Former Central Queensland University Mackay student and Mackay Base Hospital nurse Noelene Stott has been awarded the Royal College of Nursing Australia High Achiever Award.

The award is given to the highest achieving graduating nurse at Mackay, Bundaberg and Rockhampton campuses.

CQU nursing lecturer Pam Savage said the annual award represented professional recognition of academic achievement throughout the three-year Bachelor of Health Nursing program.

Ms Stott will be presented with her award and College membership during Orientation Week activities on March 2.
