Deputy VC wears a range of hats during overseas visits

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research) Jennelle Kyd will take on a range of roles during her visit to China, the USA, the UK, Sweden and Austria during late May and June.
Professor Kyd's visit to Hangzhou Dianzi University in China is aimed at consolidating previous links while exploring fresh opportunities for research and education collaboration.
The visit to China University of Petroleum will be more specifically aimed at developing engineering research cooperation related to the mining resource industries.
CQUniversity shares Dalian Ocean University's interest in marine science and marine biotechnology, so that is Professor Kyd's next port of call. The visit to Shandong Normal University is focused on new relationships.
Professor Kyd will officiate at the opening of Melior International College's program delivery at the Shanghai Institute of Technology. These English and Diploma programs qualify Chinese students to study CQUniversity programs in Singapore where they are managed by Melior International College.
The DVC will then visit America to progress CQUniversity's plans to provide Hollywood-standard silicone masks and wearable body parts as an educational tool, through a process now known as MASK ED TM(KRS Simulation).
With her 'bench scientist and laboratory leader' hat on, Professor Kyd will visit New Orleans for a meeting of the international advisory board on otitis media (middle ear infection), including delivery of a scientific paper and discussion about recent advances with world leaders in the field and specialist clinicians.
The busy DVC will fly to London to interview candidates for CQUniversity's new Engaged Research Chairs and then on to Sweden to develop our relationships with universities in Sundsvall and Trollhatten.
While in Europe, Professor Kyd will visit a company in Vienna which is collaborating with research into vaccine deelopment for otitis media.
