CQU unit challenges others to sponsor a child
Published on 15 November, 2004
CQU's international marketing department has come up with a simple way to generate money to sponsor a child via World Vision.
The 15 staff members raise money by stocking their fridge with Coke and chocolates and diverting profits from sales to the sponsorship.
The sponsored child - Shanti - is a six-year-old from a poor Nepalese family. She does not go to school and has to work carrying water.
The sponsorship aims to help her family attain self-reliance.
