CQUniversity lecturer Dr Betul Sekendiz is at the forefront of efforts to help Australian fitness businesses avoid risk...
While the fitness industry has a critical role to play in healthy lifestyles, some fitness programs can boost the risk of injury, particularly if there are inadequate risk management practices.
Rockhampton-based academic Dr Sekendiz is one of the chief investigators for the Australian Fitness Industry Risk Management (AFIRM) Project and recently served as a panellist for the 'Is Your Fitness Business at Risk?' Conference presented by the AFIRM project.
"During the conference I met with Rhiannon Lovell, one of our Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Sciences second-year students," Dr Sekendiz said.
