Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Melbourne students get experience with major software company 

Computer Associates, one of the world's largest management software companies, has signed a 12-month contract with CQU Melbourne to engage Information Technology and Information Systems students on a two-month industry experience program at their Lilydale plant.

“Their experience at Computer Associates will place them in a stronger position when applying for I.T. positions. This program is giving our students the opportunity to learn hands-on in a structured environment," she said.

Some 25 students a year will have the opportunity to partake in this joint venture.
