Melbourne Campus supports earthquake charity soccer event

CQU Melbourne staff and families recently (June 1) entertained education agents and their families in the President's Room at the Albert Park Bob Jane Stadium to watch a charity soccer match between Melbourne All Stars and Beijing Women's FC.

An enjoyable afternoon for all included entertainment from a delightful choir. A minute's silence was observed prior to the game to remember the earthquake victims in China.

The game enthralled the spectators until the end as the victory goal by the Melbourne All Stars came in the last 10 minutes. The match was won by Melbourne All Stars with a score of 2-1.

It was good to see that the Chinese and Australian community came out in force to support this worthwhile cause, with an atmosphere of goodwill.

Monies raised will go to the Chinese Red Cross through the Australian Red Cross to be used to support victims of the recent earthquake.
