Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

National role for our library director 

CQUniversity Library Services Director Graham Black has been elected to the Board of Directors for ALIA, the Australian Library and Information Association.

ALIA is the professional organisation for the library and information services sector. It seeks to empower the profession in the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership, advocacy and mutual support.

Mr Black will serve as Vice-president for 2009-2010 and President for 2010-2011.

He will have plenty to focus on as Australia will be hosting the 2010 meeting of the International Federation of Library Associations in Brisbane.
