Uni extends support for Relay for Life

CQU is extending its long-running support for Rockhampton's Relay for Life event, which is a major fundraiser for The Cancer Council Queensland coming up on May 17-18.

For the sixth consecutive year, the University will provide the venue and infrastructure support for Relay. This year, it has also offered to pay registration fees for staff and student teams to encourage participation.

University staff members or students considering entering a team are encouraged to contact Tamsen Clifford-Banks at the Office of Development and Graduate Relations via t.clifford-banks@cqu.edu.au for details and conditions of the registration offer.

This year, teams registered by March 31 will also be in the draw to win shopping vouchers donated by City Centre Plaza.

Relay For Life is open to everyone. It's a festive yet moving event where teams keep a baton moving overnight.

Teams of 10 or more come together from businesses, schools, community groups, friends and families to share this unique experience.

Organisers are also keen to involve cancer survivors in the Survivors Walk and other aspects of the weekend.

So you can have some fun while raising funds for cancer research, education and patient support programs.

Call The Cancer Council Queensland on 4927 7088  for details or to register a team.

You can also register at: http://www.relayforlife.org.au/

Sponsors and supporters of Relay of Life in Rockhampton include CQU, The Morning Bulletin, SeaFM, ABC Capricornia and WIN TV.
