Staff and students get bare facts on wastewater

CQU staff and students recently (April 4) attended an on-site wasterwater seminar and demonstration at Maslin Beach - Australia's first legal nude beach - in South Australia.

But it was all eyes on the trench seminar and 'real' evapo-transpiration-absorption system installation associated with a public toilet block at the beach.

Earlier in the day, the Rockhampton Campus delegates, and students that CQU helps teach through the Global Water Systems II Masters in Sustainable Water Management Program, attended a seminar with presentations from some of Australia's best wastewater academics.

The presentations included one from CQU researcher and lecturer Ben Kele who spoke on 'Is industry unnecessarily displacing Mother Nature? - Matching appropriate technology to the site'.

Other CQU representatives at the event included Jordanna Bembridge, Ross Percival and Thomas Aubron.
