Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Investment expert to present public seminar 

Central Queensland University invites the public to attend a research seminar by Kim Jackson on asset investment in Australia.

The seminar titled ‘Infrastructure and alternative asset investment in Australia, including a case study on the Newcastle Mater Hospital Public Private Partnership’ will be held at CQU Rockhampton (building 33 G.22) on Thursday January 25 at noon.

Ms Jackson is a Senior Associate in Westpac Banking Corporation’s Specialised Capital Group (SCG). SCG sources infrastructure and Public Private Partnership (PPP) assets for Westpac Funds Management and Hastings Fund Management.

She has been closely involved in financial modelling, analysis, and structuring of acquisitions whilst bidding for projects in the hospitals, water, energy, resources and private motorway industries. She was recently involved in the first PPP project awarded in NSW, the Newcastle Mater Hospital Redevelopment, along with the sale of the Delhi Oil and Gas Field to Beach Petroleum.
