Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

American university representatives visit Rockhampton 

CQU Rockhampton hosted a meet-and-greet session for a group of education professionals from the United States recently.

CQU took part in the Australian university tour hosted by the Australian Education Office in Washington DC. Members of the tour included directors and deputy directors of international offices from various regions of the USA.

“The group was keenly interested in CQU’s Study Abroad program, relevant courses, accommodation and cross credit availability.”.

Participants hailed from Western Illinois University, University of Denver, Purdue University – Indiana, University of Oregon, Albion College – Michigan, University of Miami, New Mexico State University, Idaho State University, Drew University - New Jersey, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, University of North Carolina at Charlotte and North Dakota State University.
