Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Rakiza faces up to Fair 

Fijian Rakiza Hussein has volunteered to help promote the CQ Multicultural Fair and University Open Day despite her busy life.

PhotoID:1545 The 2004 Face of the Fair is a Biomedical Sciences graduate and current Graduate Certificate in Management student who also juggles part-time work.

In her limited spare time, Rakiza is a State education officer for the National Liaison Committee for international students, a CQU Student Association board director and president of the International Students Association at CQU Rockhampton.

Highlights include singer Seaman Dan, Bananas in Pjamas, a Polish Dance group, a jazz stage and foods from around the world.
