Blues Cruise a Cross-Campus Success

The Telstra Countrywide Blues Brothers Revival Show cruised around Central Queensland during Orientation Week, with some cross-campus cooperation helping along the way.

PhotoID:15 The show featured 23 staff and students drawn from Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music operations in Mackay and Rockhampton. They were drawn from the Bachelor of Jazz Studies, the Bachelor of Music Theatre, the Bachelor of Music/Performing Arts, and the Bachelor of Performing Arts.

More than 700 staff, students and members of the public enjoyed the show, which was also featured on at least a dozen different media outlets. Sponsor Telstra Countrywide was featured in promotions and had prominent signage at events.

PhotoID:16 Total crowds apparently would have been even bigger, if the Rockhampton gig had not clashed with a local nightclub promotion.

Tour spies noted the performers were spot on with their on-stage timing, yet seemed to take forever to get on the bus between rest stops.
