Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Big deposit helps save lives 

CQUniversity's student mentors from Mackay Campus have deposited time and effort into a life-saving initiative.

The Student Mentor Program has helped promote the Red Cross Blood Bank Challenge and has since recorded 53 donations to the cause.

The initiative began six months ago and has since gained donations with the potential to save the lives of 159 people.

The Blood Bank's Palmina Bonaventura was on hand at the Mentor of the Year event to present certificates of appreciation to all the mentors.
