Strategic planning renewal rolled out

CQU's strategic planning renewal process has been presented to staff this week, to seek initial responses and encourage feedback before consideration by the University Council on May 7.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Jack Wood (pictured) is delivering presentations on all campuses and a web-streamed version will be available soon.

PhotoID:2021 Professor Wood told staff at the Monday briefing that feedback was welcome since there was a collective challenge to reshape the University\'s future to position it for the next 10 years.

"A cross-section of 30 senior staff have done the ground work and now we need broader stakeholder groups to be involved," he said.

Professor Wood\'s presentation revealed the proposed Vision, Mission, Values, Issues, Pillars and Goals for CQU.

"This is just the very beginning of the process ... over time we will be cascading the ideas throughout the University to fill in the detail we will need to achieve the higher-order goals," he said.

Professor Wood revealed that CQU\'s distinctiveness would come from its network of campuses, targeted regionally-relevant research and the proposal to case-manage and deliver personalised supportive learning environments for students.

The next phases in the process include a drill-down to metrics, functional plans, operational plans, a planning framework and a planning cycle.

The next information session to be delivered to staff by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor on the current state of the strategic planning process will be held this Friday, April 22, from 2pm to 4pm in room 34/1.19.
