Recycled clothing on show during fashion parade

Recycled clothing and clothing hand-painted with images of Australian flora and fauna will feature during the Gupullah Arts Fashion Parade.
Gupullah Arts, based in Eidsvold, is a project of CQ Indigenous Development Ltd, a not-for-profit organisationn which helps Indigenous people find employment and develops Indigenous enterprise in the CQ region.It covers the region west to Longreach and south to Bundaberg.
A spokesperson for Gupullah Arts, Laurel Mason said the fashion parade was a dream of Indigenous artist Venita Law who, with the help of her mother Elizabeth, created and assembled the clothing range.
Venita sucessfully showcased her art at the recent NAIDOC Week celebrations in Eidsvold. The fashion parade will be held at the CQU Multicultural Fair and Open Day on Sunday August 12 at 3.30pm, featuring young Indigenous people from Eidsvold ranging in ages from 13-16.
