Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

58 awards at Faculty ceremony 

A total of 58 awards were presented recently during the first combined Prizes & Awards Ceremony for the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering & Health.

PhotoID:3589 The annual event was attended by over 150 students and their families, faculty staff, donors and industry representatives who helped celebrate the excellent results obtained by students. The prizes were donated by sponsors for the highest achieving students from within various subjects across all of the programs offered within the Faculty.

Photo (below): Michelle Stewart was the winner of the Zonta International, Rockhampton Club – Encouragement Award (Arts, Health & Sciences). Zonta Club representative, Veronica Rickard, presented the award recogising the female student who achieved the highest GPA over the first 2 years of study.
