Tewantin school farewells Noosa Hub student teachers

A special end-of-term assembly at Tewantin State School has farewelled six student teachers from Central Queensland University’s Noosa Hub.

The six have just completed their final 10 weeks of teaching practice at the end of their CQU Bachelor of Learning Management degree program.

PhotoID:1541 Tewantin principal Bob Grover praised the student teachers’ support in all areas of school activities, and thanked their supervising mentors for the assistance they have provided in guiding their charges.

A ceremonial ‘key’ to the school and a small koala in ‘graduation’ mortarboard and gown was presented to each of the six students by their colleagues at the school. Upon graduation they will look to take up teaching posts in 2005.

Mr Grover announced that the school is intending to increase its involvement with the BLM at CQU Noosa by offering placements to eight final year students and six second-year students in 2005.

He also emphasised that Tewantin State School had employed four graduate teachers from the CQU Noosa BLM program this year, demonstrating the faith that he, the school and Education Queensland has in the partnership with CQU Noosa. ENDS For details call David Lynch via (07) 5485-2986.
