Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Nicole rewarded for 'essential' slogan 

Nicole Swanson from Student Administration has won a prize for suggesting the best slogan to represent CQU Health and Safety, in conjunction with Worksafe Australia Week.

PhotoID:3237 Ms Swanson's winning slogan was: "Health and Safety - Just 2 of Life's Essentials'.

Health & Safety Unit Manager Narelle Stubbins said 50 entries were received for the competition.

The presentation occurred during a CQU Rockhampton lunchtime event, which also included a sausage sizzle, sample-bag hand-outs, speeches and an ergonomic equipment display.
