Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

All welcome at maternity services forum 

All interested people are invited to attend an open community forum on maternity services.

The forum will be held at CQU Rockhampton from 8.45am-12.30pm on Saturday, October 30, with live videoconference links to forum groups at CQU Mackay and CQU Bundaberg.

The main facilitator will be Dr Cherrell Hirst, Chairperson of the Review of Maternity Services in Queensland.

Dawn Hay, the Australian College of Midwives Inc (ACMI) Capricornia branch president, said midwives, consumers, healthcare professionals and other interested people are welcome.

Ms Hay acknowledged support from CQU and said Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard would be the opening guest speaker.
