Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQUni Library facts and figures 

CQUniversity's Library network spends $1.3 million on journals and databases and $550,000 on books each year.

It offers more than 46,000 electronic journals and more than 330,000 books. More than 5000 research project outputs have been collected and recorded in the ACQUIRE system.

There were more than 600,000 entries into our campus libraries and almost 6 million searches, logins and documents retrieved from electronic journals and databases in 2009 alone.

CQUniversity's Library has placed in the top quartile for all categories in the latest national library client satisfaction survey, setting a new overall satisfaction benchmark. It is also a national leader in the introduction of innovative services (eg. LibGuides).

The Library has coordinated 5 national Lifelong Learning conferences over the past decade.

The Gladstone and Bundaberg campus libraries have been refurbished and the University's new Mackay campus facility has just been officially opened. A major refurbishment to the Rockhampton facility will start this year.
