Emerald eases students into academic year
Published on 04 March, 2010
CQUniversity Emerald Campus has welcomed more than 40 new students to its programs in Business, Education and STEPS.
The recent Orientation Day commenced with a welcoming address from Emerald Operations and Project Manager Gai Sypher.
Afterwards, the students were escorted on a tour around the Campus by the Student Mentors, who help the new first-years settle into University life. They provide a support network to the students to reduce stress as they begin their tertiary education.
Staff and students enjoyed a barbecue lunch before returning to the classrooms to finalise their program inductions for the day.
"It was very pleasing to see the day run so smoothly. It was a relaxed yet informative day for our eager new students of 2010," Gai said.
"Enrolment numbers were steady this year with a substantial increase in enrolments in the STEPS program."
