Sydney enrolment a dawn to dusk experience

In scenes worthy of ticket lines for a rock concert, students of CQU Sydney International Campus were eager to start the 2006 academic year, with some bleary-eyed folk lining up as early as 5.30am to ensure their preferred choice of subjects and classes.

PhotoID:2700 A total of 400 students completed the detailed enrolment process on the first day of the five-week enrolment period. The last student to complete the enrolment process on day one left the building at 8pm - making it a true dawn to dusk feat.

Barbara Abou-Lehaf, SIC Campus Director put it all down to the dedication and teamwork of campus staff, saying “staff worked hard throughout the day, remaining on site to ensure all students received the highest possible level of service”.

After overcoming initial teething problems, the new postgraduate building handled the mammoth task commendably with a spacious layout that allowed the large volume of students to navigate efficiently between eight client service points, ranging from registration through course advice to finance.

With the enrolment period going until March 17, Sydney International Campus is expecting in excess of 5000 students to pass through the enrolment room by the time Term 1, 2006 commences.
