Robyn leaves Women into Science in good shape

Robyn Donovan is leaving after a little over 2 years at the helm of CQU's Women into Science and Technology (WIST) program, with the bridging/preparatory initiative going from strength to strength.

Robyn is mother to 3 girls and has had a diverse career background* - teacher, farmer, communicator - so she has been able to relate to the aspirations of WIST students and to build on previous successes.

She will take up the role of Business Development Manager at Capricorn Investment Partners .

During a morning tea this week, Robyn thanked those who had supported WIST and those who had given her ideas for her ABC Radio Capricornia science segment.

Thousands of women around Australia have used WIST as a bridge into university and TAFE, to gain confidence for jobs or just to help their children with homework.

The self-paced distance education program takes enrolments throughout the year and usually involves between 6-12 months of study. Students usually pick the subjects most relevant to their tertiary study aspirations.

WIST will continue under acting coordinator Lyn Jorgensen and will the help of continuing administrators Marilyn Mcgregor and Gail Foex.
