Over 970 CQUniversity students have now received an invitation to join the CQUniversity Chapter of Golden Key, however it is expected only 10% to 15% of invitees will accept the membership offer.

According to the Co-Advisor of the CQUniversity Chapter, Connie Moore, the Chapter has existed for over 7 years, with over 3000 current and past CQUniversity students taking up the opportunity to become a lifetime member of Golden Key.

"However, each Golden Key Chapter throughout the world is run and supported by an Executive Committee, containing both current students and graduates. At CQUniversity the Chapter's Executive Committee has experienced a low uptake of interest in recent times," Ms Moore said.

"Our goal now is to increase students' and graduates' involvement in the Chapter at CQUniversity.

"Golden Key can offer our students a multitude of opportunities. However, the CQUniversity Chapter needs to offer its students these opportunities in a targeted manner, more than what has been undertaken in the past.

"With the assistance from various sectors of the University we hope to develop a more succinct approach to what Golden Key can offer CQUniversity students."

The Golden Key International Honour Society http://www.goldenkey.org/GKIHS is an internationally recognised, non-profit organization with about 350 chapters across the globe.

Ms Moore said Golden Key invites the top 15% of university students to become members of the society.

"As well as recognising academic achievement, Golden Key enables members to access scholarships, development opportunities, jobs and internships."
