Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

UK visitor in Bundaberg for Nurses Day 

CQUniversity Bundaberg this week (May 12) hosted a successful function to mark International Nurses Day, including an address by visiting academic Dr Christine Hallett.

Dr Hallett, the Director of the UK Centre for the History of Nursing and Midwifery (University of Manchester) discussed her recent book Containing Trauma: Nursing Work in the First World War.

The presentation was beamed via videoconference to campus sites in Rockhampton, Noosa and Mackay.
