Native Title art exhibit

Ten pieces of contemporary indigenous art, part of a national touring exhibition, will be on display at the Bundaberg campus through 11 October with support from CQU. Mervyn Johnson, the Chairperson of the Bundaberg Regional Council of Elders, officially unveils the collection -- called Native Title Business -- today (Friday 13 September 3PM).

“The main aim of Native Title Business is to promote understanding and reconciliation on native title, land, and water rights in Australia,” explained acting Head of CQU Bundaberg Campus Tim Roberts. “The University is very pleased to help sponsor the work of curator Joan Winter through our Regional Council of the Arts Fund,” he said.

“As a university I believe it is important to involve the community in discussions and there are certainly some very thought-provoking works on display” The main exhibition will be held at the Hervey Bay Regional Art Gallery.

In the last four months CQU Bundaberg has sponsored free music and film events for the community.
