Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Sustainable tourism role for CQU academic 

Associate Professor Gayle Jennings was an invited facilitator and speaker at the recently held Career Development Workshop for PhD students affiliated with the Sustainable Tourism-CRC (ST-CRC). The event was held in Alice Springs.

PhotoID:1691 Although CQU is not a member of the ST-CRC, Associate Professor Gayle Jennings indicated it was a compliment to be invited to participate.

“The invitation demonstrated the worth and value tourism colleagues elsewhere place on the tourism education practices, skills and research training used by tourism staff here at CQU," Associate Professor Jennings said.
