CQU Gladstone campus was one of several destinations visited this week by the Queensland Government Commissioner for Europe, John Dawson.
Mr Dawson’s office is responsible for identifying business opportunities in overseas markets and encouraging investment and intellectual capital to Queensland.
The Commissioner was in Gladstone for a familiarisation visit which included a tour of the Gladstone campus and talks with staff at the Process Engineering and Light Metals (PELM) complex and the Centre for Environmental Management.
Mr Dawson is based in London and said Gladstone is a perfect example of the export potential in regional areas of Queensland.
He acknowledged several local businesses that had made the finals of the Central Queensland export awards, including CQU as winners of the education category and winner of the CQ regional exporter of the year award.
