CQ residents encouraged to support social survey

Central Queenslanders are encouraged to take part in the 2006 Central Queensland Social Survey (CQSS-2006) if a research assistant from Central Queensland University contacts them during the next 2 months.

CQU research assistants will be contacting people by phone in the Rockhampton, Mackay, Fitzroy, Wide Bay/Burnett and Central West regions.

The survey, conducted by the Population Research Laboratory at CQU, is the 8th in a series of annual cost-shared, omnibus surveys aimed at obtaining public opinion on a range of topics held by a representative sample of Central Queensland residents.

The cost-sharing participation feature of the survey allows individuals and agencies the opportunity to collect high quality data from a sizable state sample at a far lower cost than an independent survey.

The Central Queensland Social Survey serves the research needs of both university researchers and community organizations. Community groups and government agencies can utilize the survey as a reliable, credible, and relatively low-cost data collection vehicle.

The 2006 Central Queensland Social Survey will be conducted during October and November.
