Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Bursary available for Central Highlands students 

Each year the Queensland Country Women's Association (QCWA - Central Highlands Division) offers a Bursary of $500 to recognise a student's academic achievement.

The Bursary is open for applications from full-time, first-year students:

  • whose permanent home address is in the Central Highlands, Central Queensland; and
  • who are enrolled in any program offered by Central Queensland University in 2007; and
  • who will be continuing full-time study in that program at CQU in 2008.

The Central Highlands, Central Queensland, is defined as the area bounded by Moranbah in the north, Dingo in the east, Rolleston and Springsure in the south, and Rubyvale, Clermont and Capella in the west.
