Academics Dr Susan Davis and Angelina Ambrosetti are also helping to stage and research an innovative project involving Sunshine Beach State High School students, who are primed to perform an interactive drama titled Water Reckoning.

The school students are literally immersing themselves in their subject matter as they explore ideas relevant to the conference theme of Future Nature, Future Cultures and the UN Year of Water Co-operation.

Dr Davis, who is also Noosa Biosphere Chair and a conference organiser, said the Water Reckoning drama will be presented both live and online through an international Rolling Role Drama Project involving schools across the world. It will also be assessed during a London conference on 'drama for learning' in July.

Participating schools have been creating content using a variety of digital technologies and web-based applications to contribute to an evolving story.

The Sunshine Beach students' live presentation project will be shared during the Balance-Unbalance conference session at 'The J' Theatre in Noosa on Friday, May 31. For details visit www.water-reckoning.net/
