Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Volvo and SAAB consultant gears up for Rockhampton seminar 

An author and consultant to Sweden's leading manufacturers will offer advice about e-commerce and e-logistics to a half-day public workshop in Rockhampton during April (Thursday morning, April 15).

Professor Dag Ericsson pioneered the Swedish concept of materials administration and supply chain management in the 1970s and founded the international Business Resource Management company.

He is now working with most of the global Swedish companies and several international corporations including Philips in the Netherlands.

His current focus is the interface between technology, management and organisational effectiveness; in particular the enablement of renewal processes and organisational restructuring.

Professor Ericsson will be hosted at CQU Rockhampton by purchasing and materials management specialist Ken Dooley, from the Faculty of Business and Law.

Professor Ericsson is now professor of e-logistics at the University in Skovde and works with company presidents and senior executives concerned with IT-enabled business development and unified logistics.

People who would be interested would be those: - responsible for obtaining supplies to their organisation (purchasing staff).

- responsible for distributing goods to customers (distribution managers).

- involved in transportation where they are dealing with customers on a regular basis with considerable shipments (transport operators and transport managers).

- who see their operations as part of a supply chain and/or are involved in supply chain management (supply chain managers).
