Christopher said the RACQ award was a big step toward establishing himself in the industry.

"Receiving this award and including it on my resume will definitely be beneficial. It's one thing to be able to tell potential employees what your strengths are, but having an award listed on my resume will help to demonstrate my knowledge."

Christopher has recently begun working as a graduate engineer in the Whitsundays region.

"I am sure my current employer will have more transportation work for me to do now that they are aware of my award."

As part of his degree, Christopher was required to complete two 6-month work placements, the second of which saw him work as an engineer for the highways department in England. It was while Christopher was overseas he completed the transportation course for his degree.

Christopher will officially graduate from the Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op) (Civil) program with First Class Honours and a Diploma of Profession Practice (Engineering) later this month.
