Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Alumni's Gina Yarrow talks with Dr Donald Reid, Manager LSU Graduate Campus and Kellie Mar, Executive Assistant to Campus Director Graduate Campus at the Sydney Alumni function. Alumni from around Sydney came together for Central Queensland University's inaugural Alumni event recently.

The evening got underway with Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard welcoming all guests including alumni and new graduates to the CQU alumni network.

Professor Rickard spoke briefly of the exciting new Alumni developments for 2007 including this networking event which will be a regular function following each graduation in Sydney.
