Performing Arts graduate Jenna Saini is a 'core extra' and stand-in for one of the lead characters in Steven Spielberg's next big TV mini-series, Terra Nova.
She's been working on the pilot episode on the Gold Coast and is heartened by news that Fox Network has signed up for 13 more episodes, with filming starting in May.
"In terms of Terra Nova I've been cast as a core extra and a stand-in for the character Maddy," Jenna says. "Basically that means that I rehearse her scenes with her so that when they're setting up a shot they use me in her place."
"As a core extra I'm one if the Terra Nova residents so you should be able to see flashes of me in the pilot episode. This episode is due to be released in the United States in May."
There's updates available on Terra Nova via http://www.fox.com/terranova/ which explains that "Terra Nova follows an ordinary family on an incredible journey back in time to prehistoric earth as a small part of a daring experiment to save the human race".
"In regards to other work I've also had a featured extra role on the feature film Singularity which stars Josh Hartnett and Bollywood actress Bipasa Basu. I've also just finished filming a commercial for the UK company Homebase."
Jenna graduated from the Bachelor of Performing Arts at Rockhampton Campus. She took on the lead role in Sweet Charity and featured in other shows including A Chorus Line. She also took part in a six-month student exchange program at Buffalo State University (State University of New York), with help from an exchange scholarship from CQUniversity.
