Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

First visit to CQU by Chinese joint venturer 

This week marks the first visit to CQU Rockhampton by representatives of Sichuan Normal University (SNU), which is seeking to strengthen a relationship established with CQU over the past two years.

PhotoID:1684 SNU and CQU have been operating a collaborative trial program to produce business graduates ready to operate in the global economy.

The visit repays previous visits to SNU by CQU senior staff and academics in recent years.

SNU has about 30,000 students and is based in Chengdu – China’s fourth largest city.

PhotoID:1685 This week’s visit will focus on extending the relationship into postgraduate education and research areas.

In a busy week for CQU, the University will also conduct graduation ceremonies for its students based in Singapore and Hong Kong.
