Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Health workers meet Swedish midwifery specialist 

Rockhampton health workers this week attended a free public seminar by visiting Swedish midwifery specialist Dr Ingegerd Hildingsson.

PhotoID:2267 Dr Hinglingsson, from Midsweden University, is a nurse and midwife academic who has specialised in the psychological aspects of pregnancy and childbirth.

She is also interested in sharing knowledge about distance education, research into maternity services and childbearing issues and international student exchange programs.

The seminar on 'The Changing Role of Midwifery Practitioners in Sweden' was held on Tuesday at CQU Rockhampton, with videoconference links to CQU Bundaberg, CQU Mackay and CQU Gladstone.
