The Central Highlands Science Centre, which is sponsored CQU Emerald, has been the proud recipient of an interactive wetlands kiosk, donated by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Initiative.
The kiosk represents an exciting opportunity for enhancing local community knowledge and understanding of wetlands and their value.
It is an educational display which provides information specifically on wetlands, and generally on issues relating to the environment and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
The kiosk was installed at the Science Centre on February 2, with the launch corresponding with World Wetlands Day.
Katy Murray, the Science Centre Community Liaison Officer, said “children visiting the centre will gain from hands-on learning and contribute to a greater community awareness in terms of the benefits of regional wetlands”.
