Birthing kits save lives - get involved on your local campus

CQUniversity is partnering with Zonta to assemble and distribute up to 5000 birthing kits to third world countries.

This Friday and Saturday (Sept 24 and 25), our CQUniversity campuses will hold an assembly day, inviting students, staff and community members to attend and be a part of this truly worthwhile project.

The Birthing Kit Assembly Day sessions will be followed by free community barbecues.

Details are available via Alexis Stewart on a.m.stewart@cqu.edu.au or 07 4940 7406.

Birthing kits have the basic requirements for a clean and safe birth, including a sheet, soap, gloves, cords, scalpel and gauze squares, contained in a press-seal bag. They are light, small, water resistant and simple to use.

Participating campuses from 11am-2pm on Friday (Sept 24) include Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with Melbourne operating from 10am-4pm on the same day.

Participating campuses from 10.45am-1.30pm on Saturday (Sept 25) include Mackay, Gladstone (Leo Zussino Building), Rockhampton (building 18) and Noosa.
