Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay Campus closed as cyclone approaches

CQUniversity has closed its Mackay Campus until further notice, as cyclone Yasi approaches.

The University's main focus at this time is the welfare and safety of students and staff who could be affected by the cyclone.

Any students who experience disruption to their study or find access to the University difficult due to severe weather should contact the University, which will assist as much as possible.

Updates on the potential for the campus to re-open will be posted on CQUniversity's website and, if possible, via voicemail messages on the campus phone 07 4940 7577.
