Students create vision for youth

CQU’s first-year Bachelor of Learning Management students hosted a Futures Expo at the Ron Smyth Building (Early Childhood Building) at 240 Quay Street, Rockhampton, today (Friday October 10).

PhotoID:1010 The expo was open to the public and showcased BLM students’ visions of preferred futures for youth.

Lecturers Barbara Hartley, Gillian Busch and Steve Millan said the students had been assigned the task to identify youth’s vision, hopes, ideas and aspirations of a better future and then create a tool, scenario or ‘thing’ that helps students see or seek this future.

Ms Hartley said she hoped the expo would showcase innovative and alternative thinking aimed at helping young people toward a preferred future.

The expo was opened by David Gleeson (pictured) from the District Office of Education Queensland.
