Damian's left Uni but still 'having a ball'

Recent Bachelor of Jazz graduate Damian Campbell says he had 'an absolute ball at Uni' and is still doing so thanks to his love of music.

He loves his job selling drums and percussion instruments at Brisbane's huge Billy Hyde Drumworx store and is also moonlighting up and down the east coast, as member of several bands.

"At the moment I'm playing in 2 different bands and doing session work with many others.

"I am in a Latin salsa band and also an original rock band named Reveler! We have played numerous gigs around Brissy and southeast and are having a blast!

"Before I moved here I was playing in numerous bands in Mackay while studying my degree. One was named Slyder with whom we supported INXS. That was a nuts gig! We flew to Canberra after that and did an interview on Channel 10 and played live on TV.

"I have toured up and down the east coast of Australia from Melbourne to Cairns playing live venues and having a ball.

"I love music immensely. That fact that I am contributing to people having a good time in a positive way is extremely rewarding.

"It can get tough on the road but the adventure and sense of freedom, if only for a short while, is well worth it.

"The last studio album I did was Slyders debut CD From here to there, which was recorded last year at Grevillia studios in Brisbane.

"I am currently preparing to enter the studio with Reveler to record our debut album; cant wait!"
