Elise's 'risky business for railways' paper earns award

Congratulations to Masters candidate Elise Crawford who has won the Ken Provins Award for the 'best paper' presented at the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society of Australia Inc. Annual Conference on the Sunshine Coast recently.
The award came at at exciting time for Elise, who had just returned from the International Conference for Control Room Design in Paris.
Her awarded and peer-reviewed paper was entitled New technology adoption: risky business for the railways. It was co-authored with supervisors Yvonne Toft and Ryan L. Kift.
Elise has been examining the additional risks that come with new technologies in complex operating environments in safety critical systems, such as those found in railway networks.
