Bollywood comes to Sydney

An opportunity to be a part of a Bollywood film and meet a famous Bollywood actor doesn’t come around too often, but for many CQU students this dream became a reality.

Shah Rukh Khan, the talented Indian movie star was in Sydney for the making of his feature film 'Chak De! India'.

The feature film involved CQU Sydney International students getting dressed up in Indian national dress and Australian T-shirts to promote the event.

It was wonderful to see everyone getting into the spirit of things. Indian dancers entertained the excited fans on the hockey grounds, creating an exciting uplifting vibe.

When it was time to leave, TECC Manager Suzana Vicentijevic, who organised the whole event, had a bus to take the students home but no-one wanted to go.

“We all had such a great time with many students remaining past midnight to meet their star,” Suzana said.

Campus Director Barbara Abou-Lehaf said Suzana co-ordinated the whole event for the students and stayed with them well past midnight.

"This was definitely a most memorable event for our international students, with many stories to tell their families and friends back home".
