Student given $8000 towards career

CQUniversity mechanical engineering student Carl Harch has been awarded the 2009 API (Australian Power Institute) Bursary Award.
Carl received his award in front of 130 people at a celebration in Brisbane last week.
The $8000 bursary is for 4 years and also includes paid holiday work.
Carl Harch accepts the 2009 bursary."The bursary will open up opportunities that would otherwise nor be available," Carl said.
"It will allow me to meet and work with very knowledgeable people in the power industry which will help with my studies and future career pathways."
API is dedicated to promote power engineering education in Australia and supports Australian universities by providing bursary scholarships, funding for laboratory facilities, developing engineering courses and funding academic positions.
API has sponsored one academic staff and contributed about $100 000 for laboratory facilities at CQUniversity. They have also provided bursaries for students each year.
